Essential clips: Fernando Bujones

Fernando Bujones started his training at the National Ballet School in Cuba (birthplace of many stars including Carlos Acosta). He went on to become the youngest ever principal of American Ballet Theatre at only 19. He is regarded as one of the finest American dancers of all time.

This is an extract from La Fille Mal Gardée in the version choreographed by the English choreographer Frederick Ashton for the Royal Ballet in London. Watch out for the elevation in the jumps and the precision in the pirouettes.
