Agony & Ecstasy: A Year with English National Ballet

In March the BBC broadcast the excellent 3-part series Agony & Ecstasy: A Year with English National Ballet. Lots of male dancers were featured talking very frankly about the careers so if you are able to get hold of this it is highly recommended inspirational stuff. At one point a dancer is even injured rehearsing the sword fight from Romeo & Juliet.

Here is a clip from the series showing the tough world of the professional rehearsal as the ENB prepare for a performance of Swan Lake in the massive Royal Albert Hall. The clip features Vadim Muntagirov, ENB's star young dancer and the somewhat ferocious choreographer, Derek Deane (former Royal Ballet principal).
