Wayne Sleep Interview

Catch this quickly before it goes offline!

Debbie McGee interviews Wayne Sleep for the BBC. Available to listen again worldwide until Sunday by clicking here. Wayne's segment starts at around 1:38.45.

Wayne Sleep is a former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet. I think I'd be right in saying he is also the shortest principal dancer in any company ever. He used his (lack of) height to his advantage throughout his career.

Here are two clips of Sleep dancing in Frederick Ashton's Tales of Beatrix Potter - a very fine ballet indeed (which happens to be playing right now in Tokyo). Sleep created the roles of Tom Thumb (in the first clip) and Squirrel Nutkin (in the second).
