We set up this site to support and encourage young men who do ballet
and demystify the world of ballet for those who don't.

A few links to other blogs

For those who are following the blog regularly (and we know you are out there), apologies for the recent slow rate of posting. I have spent a lot of the summer abroad and am in the process of moving to Tokyo so BDB is going to be jogging rather than sprinting for a few weeks.

We will still be updating as and when possible so do please come back from time to time.

There are a ton of ballet blogs out there. Here are a few links to blogs which might be of particular interest to male dancers/parents. We'll keep these links on the right hand side of the page, too, for easy access -->

Dave Tries Ballet
This new blog follows Dave, a student in his mid 20s, as he tries ballet for the first time. So far Dave has just had his first lesson.

Ballet for Men
The perfect site for adult beginners.

Tights and Tiaras
Run by BDB's friend Henrik, a 24 year old professional dancer from Norway, Tights and Tiaras is about demystifying the world of the professional male ballet dancer.

An excellent all-round ballet blog but a little tricky to find your way around.

Ballet.co.uk is a vast site with all kinds of interesting information on it. Look out for the doing dance forum which is frequented by many parents.

  1. All the work you and your team have done (whether at a sprinting or jogging pace!) is greatly appreciated so thank you! My son and I love reading it and we both feel it is a brilliant resource and a confidence booster for all those boys who love their dance but feel "out on a limb".

Please keep up the brilliant work - at whatever pace, we don't mind!!

Good luck in your move to Tokyo :)
